| Customer Reviews: Not bad for $15 February 26, 2010 J. Houk 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It really is better than what I expected to get for $15.
It's made (in the USA) of quality stamped metal.
The pad is just soft enough and covered in a heavy coarse felt.
The feet have black latex tubing over them to protect the violin.
It will raise the violin about 1.6"
You have to bend the feet inward to fit your violin, thats just how it's made and it's easy to fit.
The only problem was the label on the back which covers the edges of the felt where it folds over was coming up probably due to cold but i just pressed it back down and it seems fine now.
Quality Comfort, Quality Price April 28, 2010 Kimberly A. Smith (Oceanside, CA USA) I absolutely love my Resonan Shoudler Rest, and for $15 it doesn't hurt my wallet.
I have very sensitive skin and the heavy velvet covering is comfortable not irritating as some others can be.
The black tubing around the feet grip my violin soundly so I never have to worry about it slipping.
I would have liked to know that the feet had to be bent to fit my violin because when I opened the package it came in and tried it out the first thing that came to my mind was "Oh no! It doesn't fit!" but I eventually messed around with it and found out the legs are easily bent to fit and the bending doesn't crease the steel to weaken it.
I would recommend this to any person on a budget or in a jam for a new shoulder rest.
I would not recommend this for anything but practicing, however, because it does look somewhat cheap, so if you're in a group or a recital that requires professionalism, spend the extra for a nicer looking one.
